Westbury House and Gardens are open every weekend from April 2nd, and every day EXCEPT TUESDAYS, from April 25th to October 31st, from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm (the House will open at 11:00 am), with the last vehicle being allowed onto the property at 4:00 pm.

Kids & Family ProgramsKids & Family Programs: The Science of Sleep Gardens walk and planting 12:00 pm Wake up to spring!  Brush out your bedhead and join a guided walk to learn how the Gardens awaken with the season. Newly sprouting plants and active animals will be highlighted followed by a planting of take-home seeds to stir life in your slumbered flowerbeds. Free with admission. All ages.

Kids & Family ProgramsKids & Family Programs: A Lyrical Landscape sound walk and craft 12:00 pm Open your ears to the oodles of orchestral sounds the outdoors provide. Stroll the Gardens listening for tweets, crunches and splashes and decipher how nature’s music affects our feelings. Later, create your own rain stick craft to simulate a storm. Free with admission. All ages.

Poetica MusicaPoetica Musica: Collage of Colors 6:45 pm  Works will include Reinecke Sonata for flute and piano, Opus 167 “Undine”, Giuliani “Grand duo concertant” in A major, Opus 85 for flute and guitar, Mendelssohn Variations sérieuses, in d minor Opus 54 for solo piano, Arias by Bach, Handel and Scarlatti.

Participating artists include Barry Crawford, flute, Oren Fader, guitar, Eleanor Valkenburg, soprano, Natasa Mitrovic, piano.

Early Morning Walk 9:00 am Take a guided walk through the entire 200 acre estate; along the way you’ll see the abandoned paddocks fields that have now become home to nesting birds and wildflowers. Free with admission.

Dog Days: Special Early Spring Weekend (Two-legged) Admission: $12.00 General; $10.00 Seniors (over 62), $7.00 Children 7-17; 6 and under, Old Westbury Gardens members, and leashed dogs: Free. Bring your leashed dog for an invigorating walk and healthy exercise in designated garden areas. Meet fellow dog lovers in a beautiful environment. Dog must be leashed.

Dog Exhibitors and Vendors 11:00 am - 4:00 pm View exhibits from rescue groups and animal welfare organizations.

Scott LucasAdult Workshop: Passover Floral Design 10:30 am Floral arrangements have graced Westbury House since its completion in 1907. This long–standing tradition makes Old Westbury Gardens the ideal location to study home floral design. Taught by Scott Lucas, Head Grower and florist for Westbury House, this floral design workshop at the Gardens not only teaches students how to create stunning arrangements, it provides them with lifelong skills they can use for personal and professional endeavors. Participants will create a traditional arrangment through the use of a variety of textures and colors.

Kids & Family ProgramsKids & Family Programs: Larger than life Macro photo tour 12:00 pm Junior photographers get some (tiny) perspective as they explore a larger than life world through the lens of their own camera. Craft a unique bug as your subject and get low in the Gardens to shoot and showcase the grand scale of all things miniature. Free with admission. Your own camera is required. Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Soil Testing 10:00  am - 3:00 pm Bring ½ cup of dry soil and have it tested by Master Gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension Nassau County.
