Talk & Tour:  The Shade Garden 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Learn about the subtle glories of plants that thrive in the shade.  Master Gardener and docent Barbara Levine shows plants perfect for those shaded areas around your home.

West Porch Beech Tree Concert Series 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Bring a lawn chare or blanket and spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon.  Produced by the Series' Artist-in-Residence, Suzanne Mueller.  In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held in the Red Ballroom.  All concerts free with admission.

The Music of Terry Winchell - Singer songwriter, Terry Winchell, is joined by cellist, Suzanne Mueller, in a concert of her original songs, which range form beautiful and soulful to foot-stomping and fun.

Tai Chi Every Wednesday 10:30 am – 11:30 am Tai chi a unique form of “moving meditation” calms the mind, relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit. Much of tai chi is practiced slowly and gently, ideal for people of all ages and health conditions. Its fluid movements are based on movements in nature, which makes Old Westbury Gardens for sessions. Sessions taught by Linda Cafiero are designed for all experience levels. Participants should wear comfortable clothing. Registration required.  $15 per session; $5 members (weather permitting).

Storytime for Children Every Wednesday, July 9 – August 13  11:00 am – 12:00 pm Register now to join our story group.  Bring your 2-6 year old for an hour of stories, games, and activities.  Adult must accompany child.  Free with admission, but registration is required so we can provide enough craft materials.

Picnic Pops Summer Concert Series -- Gates open at 5:00 pm, dance lessons begin at 6:30 pm, with the Concerts beginning at 7:00 pm. Bring your friends and we’ll provide the soundtrack for an enjoyable evening under the stars.  Arrive early to picnic and stroll the gardens.  Lawn seating.  Admission: $10.00; $8.00 62 and older & members; children 12 and under free.  All concerts have rain dates to be determined.  No registration required.

Vince Giordano's Nighthawks -- The King of Swing returns, with an evening from the Golden Era of Jazz, with classic hits from the 1920's and 1930's.

Yoga Workshop Every Thursday, 11:00 am - 12:15 pm Why train in a stuffy gym when you can exercise alongside nature in the awe-inspiring gardens?  Professional Kripalu Yoga instructor, Lorili Henry, will lead students through a dynamic, yet gentle, continuous flow of postures and conscious breathing.  Students are encouraged to work at their own pace.  There is no better way to relax in the Gardens!  Registration and prepayment required.  $15 per session; $5 members.  Participants must bring a yoga mat, yoga strap, and towel.

Bug Safari 11:00 am Hunt elusive grasshoppers, butterflies, predatory insects and other creepy, crawly creatures in the wild, untamed fields and gardens with Cornell entomologists Tamson Yeh and Jody Gangloff-Kaufmann and Master Gardener, Gene Lanzaro.  Bring a butterfly net if you have one and collecting jars.

Peter Duchin and the Orchestra -- Standards, Classic Rock -- A Gardens favorite, Peter Duchin and the Orchestra, returns to the 2008 Pops.  Peter is the premier band leader having formed one of the most versatile, prestigious and sought after bands of the modern era.

48th Annual Scottish Games 8:00 am - 5:00 pm With bagpipes, caber tossing, and highland dancing, the Scottish Games is one of the highlights of our season.  It is believed that the games were begun by the ancient highland chieftains to help them select the strongest men for their armies.  The Long Island Scottish Clan MacDuff, co-host of the event, always provides lots of entertainment during this daylong festival.  Join us for the Grand Opening Ceremony at 12:30 pm as the bagpipers march down the North Lawn to open the games.  One of the highlights of our season.  Special Games admissions: $15 adults; $10 over 62; $5 children (ages 7-12) and members; children ages 6 and under free.

Approximately 300 handicapped accessible parking spaces are available in our main parking area. Please note that handicapped accessible parking spaces are limited, and we encourage you to arrive early to secure a space. All vehicles parked in this area must display a government-issued handicapped parking permit.

The locations of most of the Games' activities and events are wheelchair accessible. Handicapped accessible toilets will be located throughout the property.

Note that the shuttle buses are not handicapped accessible.

Talk & Tour: Late Summer in the Garden 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm It’s not too late to catch the beautiful explosion of color in the Walled Garden with Master Gardener and docent Dan Mahony.  The brick walls help to maintain warmth, allowing for extended bloom and delight for our visitors.
