Picnic Pops Summer Concert Series Gates open at 5:00 pm, dance lessons begin at 6:30 pm, with the Concerts beginning at 7:00 pm. Bring your friends and we’ll provide the soundtrack for an enjoyable evening under the stars. Arrive early to picnic and stroll the gardens. Admission: $10.00; $8.00 62 and older & members; children 12 and under free. All concerts have rain dates to be determined. Wednesday, July 19 Central Park Stompers -- Exuberantly received in their Gardens' debut last year, the Stompers will again thrill the audience with their high-energy renditions of forties swing.Wednesday, July 26 The Harbor Conservatory Latin Big Band -- Get ready to dance the mambo and the cha-cha-cha, or just sit back and enjoy the sounds played by this talented group of young musicians reviving the New York sound and golden age of Latin music. (Harbor Conservatory, a division of Boys and Girls Harbor) Wednesday, August 9 The Day Trippers -- Sing and dance along to those familiar Beatles tunes form the early sixties, as The Day Trippers once again bring that vibrant Liverpool sound to Old Westbury Gardens.Wednesday, August 16 Peter Duchin and the Orchestra -- The long-time Gardens favorite returns to our series with their classic arrangements of hits from the sixties and seventies.Wednesday, August 23 Vince Giordano's Nighthawks -- Another beloved Gardens' favorite returns, providing a nostalgic revisit to the Cotton Club with classic jazz of the twenties and thirties. |
