Picnic Pops 2007 Summer Concert Series

Gates open at 5:00 pm, dance lessons begin at 6:30 pm, with the Concerts beginning at 7:00 pm (the August 19th concert begins at 6:00 pm). Bring your friends and we’ll provide the soundtrack for an enjoyable evening under the stars.  Arrive early to picnic and stroll the gardens.  Admission: $10.00; $8.00 62 and older & members; children 12 and under free.  All concerts have rain dates to be determined.

The Day Trippers -- Sing and dance along to those familiar Beatles tunes form the early sixties, as The Day Trippers once again bring that vibrant Liverpool sound to Old Westbury Gardens. 

Wednesday, August 1

Broadway at Old Westbury  -- C. Colby Sachs acting as producer and music director/arranger will present THE SWEETEST SOUNDS: American Broadway Musicals from the 1960's to the 1990's.  The 1940's to 1950's were known as the Golden Age of the Broadway Musical.  Join us on a two hour journey through the following three decades and hear just how much "gold" was yet to be discovered.

Wednesday, August 8

Glenn Miller Orchestra -- The World Famous, Glenn Miller Orchestra, is the most popular and sought after big band in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements.  Dance lesson at 6:30 pm.

Sunday, August 19 (NOTE:  Concert will begin at 6:00 pm)

Vince Giordano's Nighthawks -- The King of Swing returns, playing the Golden Era of jazz repertory, renowned on the New York scene for their commitment to preserving and authentically presenting 1920's jazz and popular music.  Check out Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks on MySpace.com.

Wednesday, August 22

Doo Wop & Soul Revue --Featuring Mike Murray and the West Side Boppers (from recent off-Broadway hit "Great Googley Moo"), with special guest Kyle Flandrau of Kid Kyle and the Kool Kats and Bobby J (yes, that Bobby J dj from WCBS-FM).
