Mother’s Day Bouquet Project
Create a floral gift for mom or grandmom. For
ages 6–10. Class size is limited so register early. $10, $5

Children’s Concert: Animal Tales
An interactive concert that features five Aesop's
fables for narrator, flute and piano as well as three other
musical interpretations of animal tales. A wonderful learning
experience for children eight and under, combining classical
music, and valuable lessons in a fun-filled one-hour program.

Planting Project
Encourage the joy of gardening in your children.
Bring them to the Gardens for a take-home gardening craft. Free
with admission. Perfect for children ages 5 and up. 1:00 pm –
3:00 pm, May 3 & 4.
Workshops
Our workshops offer opportunities to learn from
leading instructors and the Gardens’ outstanding staff using the
gardens as a living classroom. Registration and payment must be
made in advance. Classes subject to cancellation due to

Floral Design
-
Join Scott Lucas, Cut Garden Supervisor and
Westbury House’s floral arranger, for a hands-on workshop
exploring design principals of cut flower arrangements. Fee
includes all plant materials and container that participants
will take home for continued enjoyment. Beginners are
welcome. Class size is limited so register early.
Registration and prepayment required. $35, $25 members,
10:30 am–12:30 pm, May 3.

Yoga in the Gardens
-
Why train in a stuffy gym when you can
exercise alongside nature in the awe-inspiring gardens?
Professional Kripalu Yoga instructor, Lorili Henry, will
lead students through a gentle, continuous flow of postures
and conscious breathing. Students are encouraged to work at
their own pace. Participants must bring a yoga mat, yoga
strap, and towel. Registration required. $15 per session, $5
members (weather permitting, includes Gardens admission).

Tai Chi
-
Tai chi a unique form of “moving meditation”
calms the mind, relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit.
Much of tai chi is practiced slowly and gently, ideal for
people of all ages and health conditions. Its fluid
movements are based on movements in nature, which makes Old
Westbury Gardens an ideal location. Sessions taught by
professional tai chi instructor, Linda Cafiero, are designed
for all experience levels. Registration required. $15 per
session; $5 members (weather permitting, includes Gardens
admission). 10:30 – 11:30 am. Wednesdays beginning May 7.

Plein Air Oil Painting
-
En plein, “in the open air,” describes the
act of painting outside rather than indoors. Learn this
technique with Pratt Institute's Art Instructor Bart Deceglie. Open to painters at all levels of experience.
Class size is limited so register early.
