2011 PUBLIC PROGRAMS & SPONSORSHIPS

Picnic Pops - Wednesdays: June 29, July, 6, 13, 20, 27 (Attendance, 800 per concert)

For the last 40 years, Old Westbury Gardens has offered this concert series, highlighting entertainment from a variety of music styles. People come with their families and bring or purchase dinner and sit on a blanket or bring tables, chairs and even candles. A dance floor was added and now dance lessons are held just before the concerts. Last years performers included:

  • Vince Giordano & the Night Hawks
  • Harlem Renaissance Orchestra
  • The Chicklettes (a 50s-60s doo-wop, pop-style all woman trio)
  • Todd Londagin Band
  • Harbor Latin Big Band

For all levels of sponsorship:

A Midsummer Night's Eve Festival - June 24-26 (Attendance 1,000)

This weekend celebrates the special beauty of the Gardens in the twilight. We decorate statues with floral garlands and trees with lanterns. The first evening is for couples to stroll the grounds and enjoy refreshments. The second evening includes outdoor ballets, musical performances, and a dinner party on the South Terrace. Children are encouraged to come in costume as woodland elves or fairies, with fairy dust provided by Old Westbury Gardens. Bring a picnic for your family or purchase boxed meals here. Sunday is reserved as a rain date.

Premier Sponsor - $10,000
Sponsorship Benefits: Recognition as the evenings primary sponsor, listing in Old Westbury Gardens' Newsletter, the Season Events Guide and Summer Events Calendar, and 50 tickets (including dinner).

Supporting Sponsor - $5,000
Sponsorship Benefits: Recognition as a supporting sponsor, listed in the Season Events Guide and Summer Events Calendar,  and 25 tickets to the event including dinner.

Winter Holiday Program
(Attendance, 5,000)

We invite you to underwrite our highly successful December Holiday programs, including First Night, Nanny Night, Holiday teas, caroling, Holiday dramatic readings, corporate reception, and our membership party.

Sponsorship Benefits: Recognition in all holiday programs as our lead sponsor, website and newsletter recognition and tickets to your choice of events.


Celebrate the Harvest Food and Wine Festival in the Gardens - New

October - This will be a fall festival with a food and wine tasting event, pumpkin and apple sales and a scarecrow contest and display. The weekend concludes with a children’s costume contest with refreshments.

Kids Fest (Attendance, 1,000+)

Kidsfest is a day of non-stop Children’s activities with a green theme. We’re hosting a children’s band (to be determined_.

Dog Days in the Gardens (Attendance, 1,500-2,000)

April 16th and October 22nd we celebrate the special family members with activities suitable for your best friends.

Sponsorship Level - $5,000 for both events or $2,000 each
Sponsorship Benefits: Recognition as the event sponsor, listed in all print material, newsletter, advertisements, program, announced at grand opening event and 50 tickets for the day.


"Free" Children Programs

Storytime Wednesdays in July and August, Saturday Storybook strolls and and monthly Nature Walks.

West Porch Beech Tree Concerts
(Attendance, 75-10)

Suzanne Mueller, cellist and Julliard graduate, performs a mix of jazz, folk and classical music with other artists.

  • July 17: Hungrytown (folk duo and cello)
  • July 24: McCarron, Mueller & Schatz (guitar, cello, percussion)
  • July 31: Cello & Reed (clarinet and cello)

Poetica Musica

Chamber ensemble in residence at Old Westbury Gardens.  Admission Fees.

Easter Egg Hunt

Join families as they hunt for Easter eggs on Saturday, April 23rd.  The expansive grounds of the Gardens allows for hundreds of families in this new program.

Plant Sale - Arbor Day
(Attendance, 1,000+)

Consider sponsoring Old Westbury Gardens’ Annual Plant Sale and Arbor Day Celebration. On this day, the Gardens is joined by families who have donated to our Memorial Tree Fund. We plant a tree in honor of Arbor Day and recognize those friends who have passed away.

Mother's Day Sponsorship
(Attendance, 2,000)

Mother’s Day is one of the Gardens’ busiest days of the year. Each mother receives a free lavender plant.

Sponsorship Level - $1,500
Sponsorship Benefits: Recognition as the event sponsor and listing in Newsletter and on website.  This is an opportunity to add your logo to the lavender plants given to each mother.
Books in the Ballroom Lecture Series
(Attendance 50-200)

Sponsorship Level - $1,500
Sponsorship Benefits: Recognition as the event sponsor and listing in Newsletter, Season Event Guide, name announced and 15 free tickets for each lecture.
