Village VetsEarly Bird Walk 9:00 am A wildlife expert from the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center leads an outdoor tour and shares expertise on local species. Bring binoculars for a closer look. All ages welcome. 

Dog Days at the Gardens 10:00 am - 5:00 pm  Bring your leashed dog for an invigorating walk and healthy exercise in designated garden areas. Meet fellow dog lovers in a beautiful environment. Dog must be leashed.

Yoga in the Gardens 11:15 am - 12:30 pm Professional Kripalu Yoga instructor, Lorili Henry, will lead students through a dynamic, yet gentle, continuous flow of postures and conscious breathing.  Participants must bring a yoga mat, yoga strap and towel.  $18.00 per session; $8.00 members (weather permitting, includes Gardens admission) every Thursday and Saturday.

Kids & Family Programs: Listen Up! Storybook Stroll - The Dark by Lemony Snicket 12:00 pm Open your ears to this modern tale as we stroll through the gardens and create a take-home craft. Ages 3–5

Dog DaysFall Dog Festival 11:00 am - 4:00 pm The festival features exhibits by animal welfare organizations, vendors, and rescue groups along with displays and activities. A costume contest and parade will take place at 3:00 pm. To participate in the parade you must register by 2:00 pm.


To participate in the contest you must complete a registration form available at the map stand by the parking area by 2:00 pm.

Veterans DayVeteran’s Day Commemoration Join us for a day of remembrance and historical appreciation as we travel back in time to the years of the First World War. Children will discover what types of roles they could have played in helping our nation’s troops, create a craft to take home and enjoy American classics from musician and storyteller Johnny Cuomo. Ages 5 and up.

Adult Program: The Uninvited Guest The Phipps family’s prized taxidermy tiger has gone missing! Who stole him from Westbury House? Race through the mansion during this timed team event to solve puzzles, unlock clues, and crack the case. Costumed characters greet you for an immersive experience of historic proportions! Adults only event. Programs last approximately 1 hour. Register in advance for one of two start times of 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm or 7:30pm –8:00 pm $22.00 / $20.00 member. Advance tickets required.

Closed - Adult Workshop: Thanksgiving Centerpiece 10:30 am Floral arrangements have graced Westbury House since its completion in 1907. This long–standing tradition makes Old Westbury Gardens the ideal location to study home floral design. Taught by Scott Lucas, Head Grower and florist for Westbury House, this centerpiece workshop at the Gardens  teaches students how to create a stunning arrangement,  Participants will create a centerpiece through the use of a variety of textures and colors.
