This exciting STEM camp is perfect for kids ages 5-9 who love to experiment\, explore\, and discover how things work. Young scientists will dive into fun experiments\, and get hands-on with nature to learn about the world around them. From testing out inventive ideas to crafting nature-inspired creations\, every day is an opportunity to play\, learn\, and explore in a safe and exciting outdoor environment! \n\n\n\n$300 per child. Members receive a 20% discount \n\n\n\nAdvance registration required. Space is limited. \n\n\n\nParticipant Registration forms must be completed to fully register for each session. DESCRIPTION:Family Fun\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an evening at Old Westbury Gardens as we explore the fascinating world of bats! Wildlife biologist Nic Comparato will guide us in learning how bats use echolocation to navigate the night and hunt for insects. You’ll listen for bat calls with specialized equipment\, search the skies for their silhouettes\, and discuss their important role in local ecosystems and ongoing conservation efforts. \n\n\n\nNic Comparato is a wildlife biologist specializing in bats and bioacoustics. They study bats by recording and analyzing their sonar. Nic is currently an associate field biologist with NYC Bird Alliance (formerly NYC Audubon) and a PhD student with the Aronson Lab for Urban Ecology at Rutgers University. Their research is focused on uncovering the strategies bats use to move through New York City during migration.  \n\n\n\nAll ages welcome.Included with admission.Space is limited—advance registration required for all attendees\, including members. \n\n\n\nRain Date: August 17th

SUMMARY:Summer Tiny Gardeners: Week-Long Program
DESCRIPTION:Family Fun\n\n\n\n\nChildren ages 2-3 are invited with caregivers for an interactive and engaging late morning program to learn through play with natural outdoor themes. Music\, movement\, and foundational gardening skills are introduced and developed during educator led sensory activities centered around flowers and plants growing in summer. Caregivers and children experience the Gardens side by side through guided exploration with opportunities to plant in our Tiny Community Garden\, and plant flowers and herbs to care for and bring home with Tiny Gardeners. \n\n\n\nThis is a 5-day Monday Through Friday\, all-weather program using an indoor space as needed.   \n\n\n\nAges 2-3\, Pre-registration is required and extremely limited.  $150 non-member child/ 20% discount for members.
