Enjoy a self-guided evening tour\, savor cookies and warm cider on the West Porch\, meet Santa\, and capture a keepsake holiday photo. \n\n\n\nAt 6:30pm\, enjoy selected variations from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker\, performed by the Portledge Lower School Dancers under the direction of Danielle Borgognone. Their charming performance brings warmth\, artistry\, and youthful spirit to this timeless ballet. \n\n\n\nThen\, at 7:30pm\, the celebration continues with a Christmas concert by the St. Agnes Cathedral Choir of Rockville Centre\, followed by our outdoor tree lighting ceremony—a heartwarming finale to an evening of holiday magic. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKET INFORMATION:\n\n\n\nIn response to recommendations from previous attendees and in order to make this a special experience for all\, there will be fewer tickets available for this event. \n\n\n\nTICKETS: $25pp; $18 child (ages 7–17); children ages 6 and under are free; members receive 20% off. DESCRIPTION:Music\, Seasonal/Special Events\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an evening of romantic and electrifying music with Poetica Musica’s concert\, “Preludes.” \n\n\n\nCelebrated pianist Hayk Arsenyan will perform Chopin’s complete cycle of 24 Preludes\, Op. 28\, alongside selected preludes from Rachmaninoff’s Op. 32. \n\n\n\nChopin’s 24 Preludes\, Op. 28\, are a set of short pieces inspired by Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier\, each written in a different key to explore all 24 keys on the keyboard. Composed in 1839\, they were not performed until 1876\, 25 years after Chopin’s death. Today\, they are a favorite of pianists for their virtuosity\, emotional depth\, and exquisite beauty. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE ARTIST \n\n\n\n\n\nNew York-based pianist and composer Dr. Hayk Arsenyan has appeared in worldwide venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York)\, Salle Cortot (Paris)\, the Concourse (Sydney)\, Cadillac-Shanghai Concert Hall (China)\, Kumin Hall (Tokyo)\, Tchaikovsky Hall (Moscow)\, and televised recitals at the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series in Chicago\, the Phillips Collection Series in Washington DC and at the Nixon Presidential Museum in Los Angeles. Mr. Arsenyan made his debut at the Armenian Philharmonic. He made his European debut with the Radio France National Philharmonic Orchestra and was awarded a platinum medal by the City of Paris. Mr. Arsenyan debuted at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall. He has presented guest lectures and masterclasses at  Waseda University Superior Conservatory of Seville the Manhattan School of Music\, University of Texas in Austin\, and National Conservatory in Damascus. \n\n\n\n\n\nHayk Arsenyan\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Arsenyan is a scholar of Iberian 18th-century music and compiled a performance guide to Antonio Soler’s sonatas and was published by Boileau Editorial de Musica in Barcelona. Small art galleries\, experimental theater\, and groundbreaking publications flourished alongside dynamic political and social movements. DESCRIPTION:Music\, Seasonal/Special Events\n\n\n\n\nPrepare to be astounded by this one-of-a-kind evening of music filled with virtuoso instrumentalists\, chamber music masterpieces\, and favorite vocal arias.  \n\n\n\nWorld-class performers – many still in their twenties – include German violinist Tassilo Probst\, who is making musical headlines throughout Europe; celebrated pianist Maxim Lando\, who has been hailed for his “brilliance and infectious exuberance” by the New York Times; National Symphony Orchestra flutist and Long Island native Matthew Ross; award winning cellist Bethany Bobbs\, whose innovations have been celebrated by The Strad and The ViolinChannel; Florida Grand Opera tenor James Mancuso; and “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band bassoonist Matthew Gregoire.  \n\n\n\nThe concert will also feature the popular OBMF Singers\, additional prize-winning instrumentalists\, and an appearance from one of the few musical-saw masters remaining in the world\, Dale Stuckenbruck.
