Now they can go beyond the door and discover “secrets of the service wing.” \n\n\n\nIn this 60-minute guided tour you’ll be introduced to the intensive labor required to create the lifestyle experienced by the Phipps and their guests. You’ll tour the many rooms that were “behind the scenes” to create the formal dining experiences of the social peers of the Phippses in the early 20th century. You’ll go along the corridors to the butler’s pantry and silver cleaning room then descend the 17 steps to the kitchen\, scullery\, and wine storage rooms located on the ground floor. \n\n\n\nNEW! As part of the tour\, visitors will now walk through the stately Dining Room and get closer than ever before to the art and historic furnishings that define this grand space—experiencing it not from behind a rope and stanchions\, but as it was meant to be seen. \n\n\n\nThis tour lasts a little over one hour and because of its physical demands\, it is not recommended for individuals with limited mobility or children under 8 years of age. We are pleased to once again host the Fall Dog Parade and Costume Contest\, a fun and anticipated yearly event where pooches (and their parents) get to strut their stuff for a chance to win prizes! The contest begins at 3pm. Costume Contest participants must register at the map stand by 2:00pm. \n\n\n\nPrize categories include:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest Overall\n\n\n\nPrettiest\n\n\n\nMost Handsome\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMost Original\n\n\n\nBest Person & Dog\n\n\n\nFunniest\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIncluded with admission. Trained at Kripalu\, she integrates traditional yoga philosophy with a gentle\, accessible approach to movement and mindfulness. Marilyn leads teacher trainings\, retreats\, and workshops\, and is known for creating supportive spaces that encourage both personal growth and deep rest. All tickets are non-refundable. \n\n\n\nFor many years visitors to Westbury House asked what was beyond the first-floor corridor. Now they can go beyond the door and discover “secrets of the service wing.” \n\n\n\nIn this 60-minute guided tour you’ll be introduced to the intensive labor required to create the lifestyle experienced by the Phipps and their guests. You’ll tour the many rooms that were “behind the scenes” to create the formal dining experiences of the social peers of the Phippses in the early 20th century. You’ll go along the corridors to the butler’s pantry and silver cleaning room then descend the 17 steps to the kitchen\, scullery\, and wine storage rooms located on the ground floor. \n\n\n\nNEW! As part of the tour\, visitors will now walk through the stately Dining Room and get closer than ever before to the art and historic furnishings that define this grand space—experiencing it not from behind a rope and stanchions\, but as it was meant to be seen. \n\n\n\nThis tour lasts a little over one hour and because of its physical demands\, it is not recommended for individuals with limited mobility or children under 8 years of age. DESCRIPTION:Art\, Members Only\, Seasonal/Special Events\, Workshops\n\n\n\n\nOld Westbury Gardens invites you to Autumn Serenade: An Evening of Piano and Song\, a special concert that will bring together the versatile vocals of Amelia Milo and the artistry of concert pianist Philip Edward Fisher for an afternoon of music in one of Long Island’s most elegant historic settings. \n\n\n\n\n\nAmelia Milo is a classically trained soprano\, actress\, singer-songwriter\, and dancer whose repertoire spans opera\, Broadway\, and contemporary music. She recently starred as Christine Daaé in Italy and Monaco’s first productions of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera and has toured throughout Europe with Andrea Bocelli. She has also performed alongside artists including Ramin Karimloo\, David Foster\, Matteo Bocelli\, and Kristin Chenoweth\, with appearances at venues including Carnegie Hall\, Suntory Hall in Tokyo\, and Yokohama Pacifico. \n\n\n\nJoining Milo is concert pianist Philip Edward Fisher\, an acclaimed international performer known for his refined touch and expressive range.
