DESCRIPTION:Family Fun\, Kids\, Seasonal/Special Events\n\n\n\n\nTai chi—a unique form of “moving meditation”—calms the mind\, relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit. Sessions are taught by professional tai chi instructor\, Linda Cafiero\, and are designed for all experience levels. \n\n\n\nNEW FOR 2026: There is no inclement weather location. All tickets are non-refundable. \n\n\n\nFor many years visitors to Westbury House asked what was beyond the first-floor corridor. Now they can go beyond the door and discover “secrets of the service wing.” \n\n\n\nIn this 60-minute guided tour you’ll be introduced to the intensive labor required to create the lifestyle experienced by the Phipps and their guests. You’ll tour the many rooms that were “behind the scenes” to create the formal dining experiences of the social peers of the Phippses in the early 20th century. You’ll go along the corridors to the butler’s pantry and silver cleaning room then descend the 17 steps to the kitchen\, scullery\, and wine storage rooms located on the ground floor. \n\n\n\nNEW for 2026! As part of the tour\, visitors will now walk through the stately Dining Room and get closer than ever before to the art and historic furnishings that define this grand space—experiencing it not from behind a rope and stanchions\, but as it was meant to be seen. \n\n\n\nThis tour lasts a little over one hour and because of its physical demands\, it is not recommended for individuals with limited mobility or children under 8 years of age. This tour requires descending a narrow staircase of 17 steps down to the ground floor/basement\, so no person (including children and infants) may be lifted or carried throughout the tour. \n\n\n\n\n\nPURCHASE TICKETS\n\n\n\nBECOME A MEMBER

DESCRIPTION:Family Fun\, Kids\, Seasonal/Special Events\n\n\n\n\nEnjoy the Gardens a little later this summer. From June 10 through July 1\, Old Westbury Gardens will offer extended evening hours exclusively for its members every Wednesday. \n\n\n\nThe Gardens will remain open until 8:00pm\, with last entry at 7:00pm. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the landscape in the softer light of the evening and enjoy a quieter visit after regular public hours. \n\n\n\nNo need to rush home for dinner! Weather permitting\, Café in the Woods will be serving a special evening menu from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm (Last order at 7:30 pm). Choose from favorites including hamburgers\, hot dogs\, bratwurst\, and baked salmon\, along with wine\, sparkling wine\, and beer available for purchase. You may call the Café at 516-727-0627 in advance to place your dinner order\, though pre-ordering is completely optional. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nbecome a member
