Cellist Suzanne Mueller's Summer Beech Tree Concert series at Old Westbury Gardens celebrates its 15th season with the eclectic range of music spanning styles and centuries and roster of talented and versatile artists series audiences have come to expect:

All concerts are at 3:00 pm. In the event of rain, they will be moved into the beautiful Red Ballroom. Concerts are free with admission.


Sunday, July 8 - Cross Island


Cross IslandSuzanne's duo with pianist Elinor Abrams Zayas - once again opens the series. The program includes music by Igor Stravinsky, George Gershwin, Antonin Dvorak, Jacques Offenbach, Cesar Cui, Carl Maria von Weber, Manuel de Falla, Richard Rodney Bennett, Astor Piazzolla, Paul Carlon, , Betsy Ross, and Cheryl Edelman, There will be a drawing - free to all in attendance - for CROSS ISLAND's Quiet Strength CD and Suzanne's Solitaire CD, released at the Gardens in July 2013 in celebration of Suzanne's first decade as Beach Tree Artist-in-Residence. Both CDs are also for sale in the Gift Shop .


Hungrytown
Sunday, July 15 - Hungrytown

Folk duo HUNGRYTOWN - Husband and wife Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson - return to the Gardens once again, performing their original music with Suzanne. They've been described by Country Jukebox as "modern representatives of traditions-based folk music," and are a big favorite every year.

McCarron Brothers
Sunday, July 22 - The McCarron Brothers Jazz Quartet


Reed man Paul Carlon, guitarist Mark McCarron, bassist Phil Palombi, and drummer Paul Wells - bring their atmospheric blend of Scofield funk and Miles Davis fusion influences, Frisell-ish country, swing, Radiohead, and free jazz to the West Porch, with Beech Tree Artist-in Residence cellist Suzanne Mueller sitting in on a few selections.


Sunday, July 29 - Cross Island


Cross IslandThe series closes once again with the return of CROSS ISLAND, this time with with guest clarinetist Joshua Redman. The program will include music by Leonard Bernstein, Max Bruch, Cole Porter, Cesar Cui, Igor Stravinsky, Richard Rodney Bennett, Paul Reade, and Arkadie Kouguell. Attendees will again be eligible for a free drawing for CROSS ISLAND's 2011 CD, Quiet Strength, and Suzanne's Solitaire CD.
