Poetica Musica Presents: Preludes

October 18 @ 8:00 pm 10:30 pm

Join us for an evening of romantic and electrifying music with Poetica Musica’s concert, “Preludes.”

Celebrated pianist Hayk Arsenyan will perform Chopin’s complete cycle of 24 Preludes, Op. 28, alongside selected preludes from Rachmaninoff’s Op. 32.

Chopin’s 24 Preludes, Op. 28, are a set of short pieces inspired by Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, each written in a different key to explore all 24 keys on the keyboard. Composed in 1839, they were not performed until 1876, 25 years after Chopin’s death. Today, they are a favorite of pianists for their virtuosity, emotional depth, and exquisite beauty.
